Chambers Bay

Chambers Bay is a links style course located on the shores of Puget Sound. It is also the only course to have been officially dubbed "America's St. Andrews" by its much older counterpart in St. Andrews, Scotland. The Robert Trent Jones Jr.-designed municipal course played host to the U.S. Amatuer Championship in 2010. It was the first course in the Pacific Northwest to host the U.S. Open in 2015. Chambers Bay offers stunning views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains as you play in the footsteps of the best golfers in the world.

Host of:

2010 U.S. Amateur Championship

2015 U.S. Open Championship

2021 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship

The Home Course

The Home Course is another championship course in Pierce County. It was the assisting course for the 2010 US Amateur Championship and was the site of the 2014 US Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship. Bald Eagles are frequently seen at the course, and like Chambers Bay, golfers will enjoy panoramic views of the Puget Sound, Olympic Mountains, and Mount Rainier.

Host of:

2014 U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links

2010 Co-Host U.S. Amateur Championship

2021  Co-Host U.S. Amateur Four Ball Championship

Tacoma + Pierce County

As a Destination, Tacoma + Pierce County shines. There are plenty of opportunities for recreation, whether you'd like to visit Mount Rainier to do some hiking in the summer or snowshoeing in the winter or try out your sea legs with kayak rentals on Puget Sound. Located just north of downtown Tacoma is Point Defiance Park, one of the largest urban parks in the nation. This park offers miles of hiking trails that wind through old growth forest as well as opportunities to get down on the beach and enjoy the Puget Sound. If you've had enough of the outdoors and want to experience some culture, then head to Tacoma's museum district. Notable museums include the Museum of Glass, where you can watch first hand as glass artists mold their creations. The LeMay America's Car Museum is the largest museum for collector cars in North America. Of course there is always plenty of great restaurants and shopping to be had in Pierce County, both in the smaller communities and in Tacoma. Whatever you're looking for, Pierce County can deliver.
