Travel Tacoma Events
Oct. 22 - A new name, a new brand, a new era of tourism in Tacoma and Pierce County
It's about a region, its identity, its rallying cry. It's about why we live here, and why people from around the world want to visit and live here too.
Finding Our Magnetic Northwest
Travel is transformative and inspirational, and with our iconic Mountain - City - Sea geography, Pierce County is particularly so.
- Everest to Rainier: Lhakpa Gelu Sherpa - Lhakpa holds the current Guinness World Record for the fastest ascent of Mount Everest, but now introduces visitors to his native Nepalese/Himalayan cuisine, and guides climbers to Rainier's summit.
- Tokyo to Tacoma: Sayuri Fukada - Sayuri started her glass-art journey in Tokyo, but watched her career bloom at the Museum of Glass in Tacoma.
- Rocky Mountains to Commencement Bay: Daniel Evans - Daniel spends his life encouraging people to test their limits at sea, and will take us into a life-challenge that starts in Commencement Bay.
As torch-carriers of a transformative destination, Travel Tacoma + Pierce County and Tacoma South Sound Sports Commission are undergoing a transformation of our own, merging and unveiling a new name, a new brand, and a new way of looking at meetings, sports, and tourism in Pierce County.
Come meet your new tourism organization, network with the industry, enjoy local food and wonderful wines and join the conversation.
