The Elbe Evangelical Lutheran Church is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the city of Elbe, in the shadow of Mount Rainier. Built in 1906 under the supervision of architect Karl Killian with land and lumber donated by local German immigrants Henry and Clara Lutken, the iron cross at the top of the 55-foot wooden steeple is easily visible from almost anywhere in downtown Elbe. In 1976, Elbe Evangelical Lutheran Church - also called the Little White Church of Elbe - was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
