Family Saturdays

Overview

Different themes every month!
Bring your family to the museum and do the work of history! Ask for a Family Saturday guide at the admissions desk and explore the galleries through themed, self-guided activities every Saturday of the month. Each month features a different focus. We’ll provide the prompts and ideas; you bring the curiosity and time to explore! For more information visit www.WashingtonHistory.org/education/youth-families.
July theme: What does what we wear say about who we are? Think about how you express yourself with what you wear. What we can learn about historical figures based on the clothes and accessories they made and wore?
August theme: What can art teach us about history? Consider art as a primary historical source while you explore IN THE SPIRIT Contemporary Native Arts, an exhibition of artworks created by Native artists from our region and beyond, and investigate other art on view throughout the museum.
September theme: What questions do you have about Washington? Learn how to craft your own questions about the history of Washington State and seek answers in the museum galleries.
