Everybody loves a happy ending, and many couples are finding theirs at the Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center. Because of its capacity, the convention center has become a top venue for weddings with roots in India, and the Pacific Islands, where the guest lists often exceed 300 people.

"Weddings for families from India and the Pacific Islands have really found a home here," says Chelene Potvin-Bird, Vice President of Sales + Servicing at Travel Tacoma + Pierce County. "With the flexibility of the convention center's in-house catering, they are able to accommodate the traditional dishes and flavors the brides and grooms want." It also helps that the convention center's in-house caterer, Aramark, boast several cooks that are native to these countries and are familiar with the traditional flavors and wedding specialties.
