The Smithsonian-inspired Harbor History Museum in Gig Harbor is currently working on restoring a 1925 fishing boat named the Shenandoah.
The boat was donated to the museum in 2000 and they are now working on a restoration that is open to the public to watch. The Shenandoah is one of only two Skansie-built purse seiners remaining in Gig Harbor. When completed, the Shenandoah will serve as a tribute to the boat builders and fishermen of the region.
