The weekend is here! Fuel up with coffee from one of our local picks and go have a great time in Pierce County. Here are five events you won’t want to miss:
Friday, November 18
Cost: $29 - $49
Rialto Theater, Tacoma, WA
Tacoma has a great downtown Theater District, and the historic Rialto Theater is the perfect stage for the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble. Hailing from the south side of Chicago, the ensemble plays with a unique style that spans hip-hop, jazz, funk, calypso rock, and just about everything in between.
Friday, November 18
Cost: $35 general admission
Museum of Glass, Tacoma, WA
Looking for a fun and swanky party to attend this weekend? Might I direct you to the Museum of Glass, where the 1920’s are alive and well. Tickets get you two complimentary drinks and hors d’oeuvres, some great people watching, and access to a stunning display Art Deco glass art. Twenties era attire is encouraged!
Saturday, November 19
Cost: Free for teens with high school ID
Tacoma Art Museum, Tacoma, WA
Visiting Pierce County with your high school student? Take them to Tacoma Art Museum (TAM). Teens get in for free with a high school ID card this Saturday night. Inside the museum, they can join in art-making activities, and enjoy live music and performances. While you’re there, catch the critically acclaimed 30 Americans exhibit in its west coast debut.
Friday, November 18 – Sunday, November 20
Cost: $10.98 general admission with food item donation
Northwest Trek Wildlife Park, Eatonville, WA
Have you seen the baby moose calves at Northwest Trek Wildlife Park? This is the perfect weekend to watch Aspen and Spruce while on a tram tour through the park. This Friday through Sunday, receive half off your general admission when you bring two or more non-perishable food item donations. Feel good about giving back to the community, and enjoy watching the native animals of the Pacific Northwest.
Saturday, November 19 -Sunday, November 20
Cost: $14 - $49
Mt. Rainier Railroad and Logging Museum, Elbe, WA
I was trying to save the holiday events until after Thanksgiving, but I had to make an exception. This is the debut weekend of the Polar Express™ Train Ride – and honestly, who doesn’t want to enjoy a scenic steam engine ride in their pajamas while drinking cocoa, eating cookies, and listening to a live reading of the Polar Express? It’s a great family outing. If you can’t make it this weekend, don’t sweat it - the Polar Express™ offers rides throughout the months of November and December.
