Morning: After a good night’s sleep at Courtyard by Marriott - Downtown Tacoma  make your way down to their lobby for a hearty breakfast before your morning of ice skating just outside the hotel at the Franciscan Polar Plaza!

Now in its third year, the Franciscan Polar Plaza is a downtown Tacoma gathering point for all to enjoy this fun winter sport and take in the spirit of the holidays.

Afternoon: Cross the street and warm up with a sandwich and homemade soup at TAM Cafe  located inside Tacoma Art Museum  After lunch, step into the Tacoma Art Museum and tour several Northwest-inspired galleries. One of the most popular galleries is the permanent exhibit of glass art by world-renowned glass artist and Tacoma-native, Dale Chihuly.

 As you make your way back to the Courtyard by Marriott, make time to stop in at hello, cupcake for a delectable seasonal cupcake or one of their year-round classics! Want to do your own cupcake decorating? They can easily arrange it in their private room for groups of up to 12 participants!

Evening: The holidays come to life at Point Defiance Zoo + Aquarium’s annual Zoolights festival. Over a half-million lights illuminate the park including ice-skating puffins, playful tiger cubs, a massive flame tree and a giant Pacific octopus!

End the evening with a world-class meal at Pacific Grill  on the same block as the Courtyard by Marriott. Their chef was included in the list of “Top 10 Best New Chefs” by Food & Wine magazine, you’ll be sure to have a premier culinary adventure!
