Ruby Bridges was the first African American child to integrate into a white Southern Elementary school in 1960. This play explores the first days Ruby might have experienced in a classroom where she was the only student because parents wouldn't let their children attend class with her. Take a close up look at the first steps of desegregation, from the experience of Ruby, to Rosa Parks, and lunch counter sit-ins. This is a Free Event with registration at broadwaycenter.org.
