Volunteer

Whether you're new to the area and want to learn more about Tacoma + Pierce County, or a long-time resident with plenty of wisdom to share, volunteering at the Visitor Information Center [VIC] is a great way to promote the destination while meeting people from all over the world and having fun!

Volunteer of the Month

The team of volunteers that help run the Tacoma VIC is a dedicated group of individuals with a passion for Tacoma + Pierce County. Each month, the organization, volunteers and visitors nominate who they think is most fitting of the title "Volunteer of the Month."

The Volunteer of the Month for April is Mark Hardie! Thanks to Mark's hard work, we were able to complete detailed projects and enhance visitor experiences throughout the month! Mark's commitment to the TRCVB, the community, his contributions to multiple projects and his dedication to his fellow volunteers are what make him the best choice for the April 2012 Volunteer of the Month award!

Meet Mark, VIC volunteer since July 2008:

Invitation to Volunteer

As an ambassador to the region, your contact with visitors has a direct effect on their experience and their decision to return or refer Pierce County as a potential travel destination to family and friends.

Many volunteers donate four hours-a-week on their chosen day, either from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. or 1-5 p.m. The Tacoma Regional Convention + Visitor Bureau [TRCVB] provides training sessions, tools, resources and familiarization tours to give volunteers a true understanding of all that our destination has to offer.
