engaging visitors online
There?s a pretty good chance you just finished watching an online video before you arrived here. But don't worry, you're not the only one. Watching video online is becoming the globe's new pastime, and it's showing no signs of slowing down (or, uh, buffering).

According to a Nielsen study, online video is a rising trend that keeps your audience engaged. And that's what we're doing. The TRCVB released a new Tacoma + Pierce County destination video on August 31. Within two hours of posting to YouTube, the video received more than 200 views, that's more than one view per minute!

Some of you may have received a sneak peak of the video during the Video Premiere Party at the Grand Cinema on August 29. Haven't seen the destination video yet? It's not too late. In just three minutes you can see for yourself what makes our destination compelling through a variety of experiences that range from relaxing and luxurious to rugged and adventurous. Watch Now...

So who else is watching? Did you know more than 13 million hours of video were uploaded to YouTube during 2010 and 48 hours of video are uploaded every minute, resulting in nearly eight years of content uploaded every day? That's comparable to 150,000+ full-length movies! We're hoping to capture the attention of these video viewers in addition to utilizing the destination video as a marketing tool. We'll show it off in presentations to clients and will share it with the leisure market across the globe ? including an in-person presentation in China in less than a week! Excited? We are too!

Of course, we couldn't have made this video without the partnership of JayRay Ads of Tacoma and Hand Crank Films of Bellingham. From production, creative, filming and editing, these partners rocked! All of our talent seen in the video volunteered their time, anywhere from two to 48 hours. Thank you to our members and community for your support in the creation of the new Tacoma + Pierce County destination video, and thank you for watching!

Feel free to share this video with friends, family, colleagues and visitors! The more people that see it, the more people will recognize what an awesome destination Tacoma + Pierce County truly is! Post it to your Facebook, Twitter or website'everyone deserves to see it!
