tammy blount receives popham award

I recently attended the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber's quarterly City Center Luncheon and was truly excited as I left the Courtyard by Marriott's ballroom with so much great news and information! The program presentations included the 2011 New Tacoma Awards, downtown's new grocery store, an outlook on residential development, new businesses that have joined the community, a preview of the Tacoma Art Museum's Norman Rockwell exhibit and Downtown On the Go's initiative for creating incentives to live downtown.

The event was fantastic. Oh yes, and dear colleague (and boss) Tammy Blount, President + CEO of TRCVB won the Popham Award! The Popham Award recognizes the individual that has done the most to build ?community spirit? and if you've ever met Tammy, you'll agree that she is Tacoma-Pierce County's number one tourism evangelist and champion.
