having fun promoting tacoma
As a Sales Manager for the TRCVB, meeting planners from around the country frequently ask me about fun events and activities that their conference delegates can attend during their ?free? time.

Late summer and early fall usually yields a variety of unique events and one that I was able to attend as a volunteer (thanks to Tami Music, our Visitor Information Center Manager) was the Tacoma Craft Beer Festival on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend.

Located outdoors near the cable-stay bridge on the shores of the Thea Foss Waterway in Tacoma, beer vendors from all over the area gave samples of a variety of brews. There were also vendors selling food and crafts and live music was playing throughout the day. The atmosphere lent itself to creating a festive and raucous time for everyone there!

From our booth at the south end of the park, I assisted in handing out literature that has a wealth of information about things to do and places to see in Tacoma + Pierce County. We also provided a brochure of restaurants that were nearby the festival for attendees to easily access once they had their fill of tasty brews.

All in all, it was a gorgeous day and there were more than 4,000 attendees. The fun thing is that we got to talk to a good percentage of them! There were visitors from out-of-state, the Seattle area and right here in Tacoma + Pierce County. It was fun to educate them on what the TRCVB and the VIC do and all the neat things to do around here.
