tree planting mission in tacoma
Last month ?Team Tacoma? (TRCVB, Greater Tacoma Convention + Trade Center, Hotel Murano and Courtyard by Marriott) fulfilled its pledge to the meeting planners who visited the ?Meet in Washington, the State? booth at the Center for Association Leadership's (ASAE) Springtime Expo in Washington D.C. and Annual Meeting + Tradeshow in St. Louis.

More than 250 meeting planners visited the booth and learned how ?Team Tacoma? will help their meetings and events thrive with our unique balance of landscape and cityscape. In return for visiting the booth, the Corporate Strategic Partners (Seattle?s Convention and Visitors Bureau, Visit Bellevue, Spokane Convention and Visitors Bureau, Tulalip and TRCVB) promised to plant a tree in their honor to keep Washington lush and green.

Each Corporate Strategic Partner planted trees in their respective regions. On Oct. 26, the TRCVB team joined forces with the Greater Tacoma Convention + Trade Center, Hotel Murano and Courtyard by Marriott to plant 108 trees at McKinley Park in Tacoma in partnership with Metro Parks of Tacoma. We planted native trees and shrubs in an effort to help restore more than 2,000 acres of natural area managed by Metro Parks. It was hard work, lots of fun and very rewarding!
