Experience History in the Making

The Smithsonian-inspired Harbor History Museum in Gig Harbor is currently working on restoring a 1925 fishing boat named the Shenandoah.
The boat was donated to the museum in 2000 and they are now working on a restoration that is open to the public to watch. The Shenandoah is one of only two Skansie-built purse seiners remaining in Gig Harbor. When completed, the Shenandoah will serve as a tribute to the boat builders and fishermen of the region. What to do this weekend: 1/20 - 1/22

Happy Friday, Pierce County!

This time of year one of my favorite things to do is try something new and creative. The cloudy skies make being inside so appealing, but I don't want to just sit around indoors all weekend! Luckily, scattered throughout Pierce County there are plenty of creative enterprises who can help artistically challenged individuals like myself create something to display in my home, drink my morning coffee out of, or even give as a gift to a friend with an upcoming birthday!
