Connecting at Connect

chicago tradeshow provides trcvb with valuable opportunities
August 25-27 I attended ?Connect Marketplace? in downtown Chicago with about 1,100 attendees, including 400 meeting planners. The event, created by Connect Magazine of Collinson Media, is an appointment-based tradeshow where our destination met one-on-one with more than 30 meeting planners from a variety of markets.
This was the TRCVB's first time attending Connect and I was able to meet with qualified planners and start building relationships with great new contacts. I also spent time networking with planners and attending valuable educational sessions.
The TRCVB advertises in Connect Magazine and our partnership with them has gained recognition for our region, giving us access into the invitation only publisher's reception during the conference. At the reception I was able to have some extra time connecting with planners and learning more about their meetings. In fact, we've already received one RFP and expect more to come. I look forward to following up with the planners I met and assisting them with planning events in Tacoma + Pierce County.
