August 30, 2016—Tacoma, Washington — On Oct. 18-20, Travel Tacoma + Pierce County will literally be bringing the fresh air to IMEX America, the largest meetings industry trade show in the United States. At this year’s show, held at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas, Travel Tacoma is proud to host the Airheads Oxygen Bar for attendees who need a quick breather between booths and appointments.

A lungful at the oxygen bar is intended to reinvigorate attendees’ bodies and minds, much like the fresh, Pacific Northwest waterfront air in Tacoma, Washington reinvigorates attendees at meetings held in that city. IMEX attendees can learn more about tangibles (square footage, venues, rates, available lodging) and the intangibles (Tacoma’s creative, inspirational atmosphere and the convenient, walkable downtown area) that Tacoma offers meeting planners at booth 712. At the booth, Travel Tacoma + Pierce County representatives will also be holding meetings, giving out Tacoma-related gifts and information, and doing a daily drawing at 4 p.m. for $100 Nike gift cards.

“We’re thrilled to be at IMEX America this year, meeting with some of the best meeting planners in the business, alongside some of the most respected destinations in the country,” said Chelene Potvin-Bird, Travel Tacoma + Pierce County Vice President of Sales + Servicing. “Since we couldn’t bring Tacoma’s atmosphere with us to Las Vegas, we’re trying to do the next best thing with the oxygen bar.”

With more than 3,000 bookable group rooms (650 in downtown Tacoma) at competitive rates and a 119,000 square-foot Convention Center, located in the heart of downtown Tacoma, the South Puget Sound area is often the right choice for conferences, meetings, tradeshows and reunions of all sizes.

Please reach out to Chelene Potvin-Bird at chelene@traveltacoma.com to set up an appointment during IMEX America.
