The Tacoma Art Museum released renderings Wednesday for its new Western American art wing, revealing a street-level extension joined to the current building by a tall canopy. Construction is expected to begin in the fall, with completion set for late 2014.
The 16,000-square-foot expansion and renovation will double the size of the existing museum. The additions cost is estimated at $15.5 million, museum director Stephanie Stebich said. Most of the money has been raised, she said.
