Tacoma Art Museum 

The Tacoma Art Museum recently opened a new 15,000-square-foot wing to house the 280-piece Western American art collection, double it’s gallery space. The permanent collection features rotating pieces of historic and contemporary pieces feature the reality and the impressions of life in the West. The Tacoma Art Museum [TAM] was gifted the Western American Art collection in July 2012 by German billionaire Erivan Haub. 

Pierce County to Host the U.S. Open Golf Championship - June 18-21, 2015

Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Place, Wash. hosts the 2015 U.S. Open. Named one of the top 100 golf courses in the U.S. by Golf Magazine, and widely considered the best public course, Chambers Bay was recently host to the 2010 U.S. Amateur Championship. The Home Course in DuPont was the assisting site of the Amateur, and was ranked as the No. 2 Best Public Course in Washington state by Golfweek Magazine.

Silver Cloud Inn at Point Ruston

A 175-room waterfront hotel with restaurant, lounge, conference area, swimming pool, exercise and spa space. The hotel is currently under construction.

Multiplex Theater: As of February 2015, designing and planning for a nine-screen multiplex Century theater is underway. The theater, which will be equipped with digital projection systems and 3-D projection capabilities, will be the first new theater complex built in Tacoma in more than two decades. The theater is scheduled to open in 2015.
